pass creek road is one of only two maintained vehicle passes that provide access to and through the interior of the lost river mountains - and to the little lost river valley beyond. it is a special location that provides easy access to the heart of the lost river mountains.
the property is located at an elevation between 6100 and 6300 feet with the house at the first level of foothills stepping their way up from the valley floor to crows nest canyon, and on the south side of invisible mountain. the house is precipitously located 200 feet or so above the lost river valley below. the property is located on the extreme northside (and is therefore south facing) of the lost river valley exactly where the valley (and us highway 93) makes a 90 degree turn from n-s to e-w. in this location the house and the entire property possess and unparalleled view of the surrounding mountains and the lost river valley - all the way down to arco and beyond to the south, and all the way to mackay to the west.

custer county maintains pass creek road and the driveway to the house. they provide gravel road maintenance every spring/summer/fall and provide snow plowing throughout the winter. the road is officially a county road up to the property cattle guard; however, since the land sits side hill in that area, the snowplows must continue past the cattle guard and into the property before they can get a safe place to get turned around (a nice benefit). pass creek road and this road are usually plowed by 10:00 am on a snow day (not first, but not last either). this makes winter storm management at the property significantly safer and easier.
